Calytrix University
The Grand University of Mages
The Calytrix University is a renowned center of magical knowledge, connecting the great centers of learning throughout Embris through planar magic to a demiplane campus. Around three hundred years ago, the head of the Marquez Foundation pushed for the creation of the Calytix University in tandem with the Rose Academy. The university is the result of mage schools throughout Embris coming together to provide a broader education to cultivate the minds of future archmages. At the Calytrix, the potential of novice minds is cultivated into powerful mages and experts of arcane knowledge. Each of the main campuses offers a wide selection of diverse disciplines and an opportunity for young mages to experience cultures throughout the world. The Calytrix University has become a symbol of knowledge throughout Embris, connecting different cultures and disciplines to curate the education of many great mages. Those who graduate from Calytrix University are widely respected and go forth to become renowned scholars in their own fields, great innovators, and in some cases, leaders of the communities
The Five Campuses
The Aelespire Institute for Mystic Arts
The central campus of the Calytrix University lies in a powerfully warded demiplane, this is where the Aelespire Institute is founded. The Institute focuses on the discipline of interplanar studies and planar magic, as Embris is overflowing with the energies of the elemental planes waiting for a skilled mage to grasp. The institute offers students a unique experience found nowhere else on the material plane to deepen their connections to the unseen arcane magics of the beyond.
The Rose Academy of the Arcane
The oldest ongoing academic institution in Embris, the Rose Academy has been a center of learning in Goraj for millennia. The academy is filled with the pristine sensibilities of the Felaria province, nurturing its mages with strict structure and rigid tradition. The Rose Academy is primarily focused on the discipline of wizardry and traditional practices. At the academy students develop a well-rounded understanding of the basic schools of magic, an appreciation of runic structure, and a deep understanding of arcane theory.
The Saurian Arboretum of Natural Studies
The youngest of the five schools, the Saurian Arboretum was founded only a few centuries ago in Genursh'k. The arboretum is founded upon a wealth of druidic and natural knowledge the folks of the Yctan jungle have cultivated across generations. The Saurian Arboretum is primarily focused on the disciplines of primal magic and natural studies. Students are offered hands-on experience in the field, gaining practical knowledge from the savage wilds of the surrounding jungles.
The Luxhold College of Artifice
The Luxhold College is a testimony to the spirit of craftsmanship and innovation that flows through Örndalur. Luxhold College has a number of connections to guilds and companies throughout Örndalur and Croit that offer valuable resources to its students. The central discipline of Luxhold College is the art of artifice and the study of mystic artifacts. At the college, students will gain the benefits of hands on learning and practical applications of artifice as they hone their innate craftsmanship.
The Vindresti Lyceum of Paranormal Phenomena
The Vindresti Lyceum lies at the center of the floating isle of Gravitas, a global center of research. The campus itself offers a look into the paranormal phenomena in the peculiar state of the magic that runs through the city. The Vindresti Lyceum focuses on the discipline of arcane research and critical analysis of esoteric phenomena. Students at the lyceum will be taught by research experts and, in some cases, ghosts themselves who have become professors at the school. The lyceum explores the very edges of arcane theory, pushing its students to ask questions never before asked.
