Leontari, the Warrior

Leontari

Leontari, the god of war and pride, and is a symbol of both mercy and vengeance. In combat he is the strongest of the gods, paling only to the Supreme Gods in power. Leontari aids those that put their faith in him in battle, helping them stand against their greatest fears. To some he appears as a majestic lion with a mane made of fire. In a flash of flames he streaks across the battlefield, cutting through those who dare face him in combat. To others he appears as a humanoid with a lion’s head, covered in gold ornate armor, a fiery cape bellowing softly in the wind as if to show victory through perseverance. An idol of victory through perseverance and valor, his stance calm and collected. As if to show restraint in battle, even at the hand of victory and mercy to those that deserve it.

Each year during the summer solstice a fighting tournament is held at the Precipice of Ferocity by devout followers of Leontari. The strongest from each continent gather to test themselves in the name of glory.

Fable

“Crawling on the floor, through the mud among his slain allies, a man backs away, his legs thrashing and kicking as he tries to escape the knight clad in golden armor; their iridescent blade dripped with the blood of their foes. The man screamed out in fear as he tried to back away, losing his sword in the process. As the man’s leg got stuck in the mud, tears streamed down his face and he closed his eyes. He raised his hands above his head as he cowered in fear.

Just as the knight was about to strike, he stopped short; his blade just barely kissed the cowering man’s flesh. A flare of divine energy pulsed around the man on the ground, and the knight put away his blade.

Only two words were uttered from within the swirling light: “Price… Paid…”. The knight turned slowly and walked away, leaving the cowering man alive and trembling against the wall.”
